As a Clinical Exercise Specialist PTT will create a unique partnership between the trainer, client and the client's doctor. Together we determine the safest, most effective program to achieve your goals. As a Clinical Exercise Specialist we provide a safe and effective bridge for patients to cross from the structured clinical treatment and/or rehabilitation environment to the community or home-based exercise program. Unfortunately many physicians lack time, formal education and practical experience. The knowledge needed is in related areas such as exercise physiology, behavior modification, motivation, goal setting, biomechanics, and exercise techniques. As such, patients are left on their own to fulfill this aspect of their discharge instructions.
Over the years PTT has evaluated programs that are effective and those that are not. Through proper screening, PTT considers the clients health and lifestyle history, medical instructions, and the individual needs to find the right exercise prescription. We assess medications that affect heart rate and blood pressure. At PTT we understand the limits of our profession. There are some needs that are best served by others. Understanding these limitations and making the appropriate referrals has earned use the respect of the medical community. This alliance has given PTT the opportunity to train a wide variety of clients from mentally and physically challenged clients (Down's syndrome, retardation) to diseased clients (Parkinson's, diabetes's, hypertension, and cancer), to overweight or obese youths and adults, young athletes, professional athletes and everyday able bodied clients trying to improve their quality of life and health.

Diabetic Program: It is critical that Type One Diabetics (juvenile diabetes) learn how to control and manage diabetes at an early age while maintaining an active lifestyle. To instill these tools early in a child's life will prevent permanent damage to capillaries. Permanent damage leads to health problems of the extremities and major organs causing severe health conditions in adult years. In many cases, Type-Two Diabetes can be managed or even eliminated with a proper diet and exercise program.
Hypertension Program: This particular program is designed to improve the circulatory system and general health with the optimal goal of eliminating the need for medication.
Arthritic Program: This program is designed to improve circulation and range of motion in problem areas. Optimal expectations are to ease pain, decrease inflammation, improve function, to decrese joint damage and re-establish an active lifestyle.
Handicapped Program: A program designed to stop neuromuscular degenerative effects caused by a sedentary lifestyle. We work towards maximizing the quality life and combating potential health problems.
